Hot or Cold?

I know many of you are not ready to think about winter, but it's hot days like we've been having that get me longing for that time of year when the air becomes crisp and chilly and you don't leave the house without a mug of hot cocoa and your warm snugly scarf. One of my favorite places to visit in the winter is the little town of Leavenworth, WA. It's completely magical with its Tudor-style shops, Christmas lights and a gorgeous backdrop of alpine hills. And what winter trip would be complete without a sleigh ride?

The shopping there is wonderful as well, with so many quaint shops full of unique treasures. I love grabbing a piping hot cup of coffee from the Starbucks on the corner and walking from shop to shop in the soft snow. I've always made a day trip out of it, but in the future I'd love to stay for a weekend or longer at one of Leavenworth's many cozy hotels. I'd love to sit and sketch the various buildings and people. Perhaps even do some skiing? All I can say is that this town tugs at my heartstrings and I truly cannot wait to go back!

With that said, I'd love to hear about some of the places dear to your heart! Where is one of your favorite places to go on vacation?

  2. Those are some beautiful photos, thanks for sharing. We spent Christmas one year in Breckenridge, CO, and it was beautiful. While I enjoy the mountains and snow, the beach is my absolute favorite! We honeymooned in Destin, FL and just spent our 5 year anniversary there as well.

  3. I'm more of a beach girl. I'm hoping to plan a vacation for early next year - maybe Turks and Caicos?

I found you on the nest as well and I LOVE your blog!
